Jimmy Winstead is a native Mississippian, having attended Ole Miss on an athletic scholarship in the early 70's. He moved to New York City in 1980 to study photography and after one semester at Parsons school of design on Fifth Ave., he applied for a full time assistants job with the world renound photograper, Jake Rajs, working primarily on the American Express campaign. Eventually he became a freelance assistant and worked for some of the greatest photographers in the world, in both advertising and editorial work. Finally, in 1994, he moved back to Ms. to start his own business and resides in Jackson, working primarily as an architectural photographer.
